The Sony BVM-D9H1U is an 8 inch monitor with 450 TV lines of resolution. The monitor supports both SD and HD signals including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080/24Psf. The three option slots in the back panel accept optional analog and digital decoders. Other features include auto setup and RS 485 serial control for multiple monitor control. Automatics accept measurements from most industry standard light probes. Optional lithium-ion battery packs are available
Trinitron Picture Tube The consistency and accuracy of the video image starts with the CRT. Sonys Trinitron has long been regarded as a standard within the production community and even for home television displays. The BVM-D9H1U has a Trinitron picture-tube that displays video images with the most recent advancements in color reproduction. Color matching with other monitors is easily accomplished with available remote control units. This monitor can display 16:9 or 4:3 images naturally with the inclusion of CRT bezels for each aspect ratio.
Variety of Video Inputs The monitor is capable of displaying very high quality images from high resolution formats like HDTV, Digi-Beta and Beta SP. The monitor has 3-BNC input ( and output) for Analog Component signals and RGB, like those from Beta SP decks and cameras. Other formats, both analog and digital, are available through optional modular boards that mount into the back of the unit.
There are options for composite and Y/C with the BKM-127W board. SDI signals, like those from Digi-Beta devices can be input with the optional BKM-120D. HD-SDI, like from HDTV production equipment can be displayed on this monitor with the inclusion of the BKM-142HD. This board takes up 2 board spaces. If additional component ins and outs are required, the BKM-129X adds an additional 3-BNC input and output with sync.
AC or DC Power The BVM-D9H1U can be operated virtually anywhere in the world within reasonable environmental conditions, of course. Since the unit is both PAL and NTSC compatible, the unit can be plugged into any wall socket that provides between 100 and 240 volts. An AC adapter snaps onto the back of the unit. In place of the AC adapter, any V-mount battery can be attached in the same manner. The manufacturer states that with a single BP-L90A battery the monitor can be run for more than an hour and a half with the inclusion of two accessory boards.
