The new YJ13x6B is wide angle of view portable 2/3-inch Pro-Video lens offered by Canon to support a broad range of business & industrial and corporate production applications. It is a member of a family of four portable Pro-Video lenses that collectively offer an affordable and broad range of creative options.
This particular lens is intended for producers having as their foremost priority wide angle shooting with a lightweight mobile production lens-camera system that offers excellent performance.
The new YJ13x6B utilized advanced technologies and powerful computer-aided design techniques to produce a very wide-angle lens in a lightweight 3.39 lb package, a full 11% lighter than its predecessor, the YJ12x6.5B. It is a design directly responding to the expressed creative desires of producers for a versatile acquisition system. The unusually wide angle allows a cost-effective compromise for moving between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.

The new YJ13x6B represents an excellent compromise between the demands for good sensitivity (maximum relative aperture of f2.0), mobility, and wide field of view in a lightweight handheld camera system that can address a wide diversity of corporate, business & industrial, and some broadcast applications.
The new YJ13x6B offers the widest focal length (6mm), highest zoom ratio (13x) of any lens in its class as well as the fastest servo zoom speed (1.2 seconds, end to end). In addition, the lens offers a generous horizontal field of view of 72.5 degrees. The new alternate YJ13x6B IRS has a 2x extender that facilitates a focal range from 12mm to 156mm. The optical optimization strategies achieved a high MTF profile over the entire image plane, minimization of chromatic aberrations, and maximization of image contrast. Contrast was extended by superb control of black reproduction - with optical and mechanical design innovations that substantially reduced flare, veiling glare, and any internal reflections.
The new YJ13x6B Series also features a new and exclusive ergonomically designed drive unit. The drive unit will not only fit into the palm of your hand more comfortably, since it is smaller, it improves the feeling of unity between the drive unit and the lens. The drive unit, featuring a grip support and ribbed surface, is tilted at an ideal angle in order to achieve a better balance and to provide more comfort to the operator.
