Canon XJ86x9.3B AF / D01-DFSAF31 DIGISUPER 86AF 2/3" Field Lens with D01 series lens control with FDJ-P31 (Europe Type ; for right hand ) The enormous picture detail captured by high definition video is extremely unforgiving of anything but precise focus. Helping camera operators to achieve exact focus each and every time at telephoto distances is the job of Canon's revolutionary new DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF long-field lenses. Both use the Secondary Imaging Phase Difference Method (see chart on the features page) of auto-focus technology, which is significantly more advanced than that used in any other high-definition broadcast zoom lens. Based on the most widely used lenses in HD sports and entertainment production worldwide, the high-definition auto-focus DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF are designed to assist camera operators to instantly achieve exact focus at all times, which is absolutely critical in all applications of HDTV production. The auto-focus features of these lenses are not intended to do the camera operator's job for him/her, but to provide a high-tech tool to assist the camera operator in achieving exact focus each and every time, especially in challenging situations. The DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF provide an adjustable window in the viewfinder that enables camera operators to target the object they wish to auto-focus on. The DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF feature three optional auto-focus modes: Part-Time, which auto-focuses as long as a button is depressed for quick focus confirmation or instant on-demand follow-focus; Full-Time, for situations such as shooting racing cars, where objects are speeding toward the camera position at high speed, or for situations where full-servo robotic operation is needed; and Off, for normal, unassisted lens focus operation. Canon's DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF lenses feature the HD optical precision and heightened long-range zoom capabilities that have made Canon a symbol of excellence in sports and entertainment production. All of Canon's DIGISUPER field lenses feature Canon's unique XS technology for improved optical performance and lighter weight. All DIGISUPER field lenses 75x and higher come equipped with Canon's built-in Optical Image Stabilizer, or "Shift-IS" system, which enables directors to capture dramatic, high-impact long shots and deliver them shake-free to viewers in stunning HDTV. The DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF lenses are Canon's latest advancements designed to provide camera operators with the industry's most sophisticated tools for success in capturing HDTV images of the world's most exciting moments. -
Newly developed materials (including the high index ultra low dispersion material) combined with the very latest in element design innovations and multilayer coatings produce an unsurpassed pristine imaging system for the most discerning production team. The HDxs logo identifies the deployment of all of these technologies in the lens. -

HD video's tremendous picture detail demands precise focus. Canon's extensive experience in long zoom field-lens design provides a unique understanding of the challenges camera operators face in simultaneously paying close attention to picture framing and control of the lens and camera, while also continually maintaining sharp focus on selected objects within complex scenes. Canon's new DIGISUPER 100AF and DIGISUPER 86AF HD field lenses are a powerful automated aid to the task of HD lens focus and use sophisticated auto-focus technology based on an HD implementation of the Through-the-Lens Secondary Image Registration Phase Detection method. These auto-focus lenses free camera operators to concentrate on the creative aspects of framing HD images and following the action. Both the DIGISUPER 100AF and companion DIGISUPER 86AF HD field lenses create a window in the viewfinder (controlled by the camera operator) that encompasses the selected object requiring sharpest focus within the scene. The auto focus system can be engaged with a choice of three control modes: Part-Time, which actuates the auto-focus system as long as a control button is depressed. Full-Time, which actuates the auto-focus continually on selected moving objects such as racing cars (that might be speeding toward the camera position), or for shooting situations entailing full-servo robotic operation. Off, which allows for normal, unassisted lens focus.
