Sony is pleased to announce an upgrade program to convert the HVR-Z5U, HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270U models to world compatible (PAL/NTSC) models. The standard "U" models sold in the United States offer "24p" (native 23.976p or pulldown), "30p" (29.97p), and "60i" (59.94i) in HD, and 480i DV or DVCAM only in SD.

After the upgrade, the camera will retain its original specifications, and provide 576i PAL in SD and 25p and 50i in HD, all selectable via the camera's menu.
