The Sony PDW-V1 is a portable, lightweight VTR ideal for field production. Built upon blue laser technology the XDCAM line of products takes advantage of non-linear workflow, while keeping the same archiving infrastructure professionals are accustomed to with tape-based acquisition. This deck is capable of playing back both MPEG IMX and DVCAM without the need of any external device. Everything is built right into the unit and makes it a valuable solution for mobile workstations. Proxy files, which are small MPEG-4 file duplicates of actual footage, can be viewed up to 30x faster than real time via the simple thumbnail search function. Highlights:- All-In-One Capability: During field productions it is very helpful to have a deck that doubles as a monitor. The PDW-V1 does just that. It's compact frame can be powered either from any AC power supply or by DC battery.
- High Transfer Speeds: The deck has an optical head that provides extremely fast transfer rates to editing workstations. The DVCAM format transfers at 2.5x normal speed while MPEG IMX run up to 1.25x. Proxy AV transfers provide 30x data rates.
- Non-Linear Scene Selection: Possibly the greatest attribute of working with non-linear optical recording is the ability to access scenes independently. This along with multiple viewing options makes XDCAM extremely powerful, increasing post-production efficiency. Sony's thumbnail scene selection tool makes looking for shots a breeze, simply cycle through the list of clips to find what you need.
- Seven Year "Powertrain" Warranty: Sony's commitment to XDCAM technology and their unwavering confidence in the equipment translates into an unprecedented seven year "Powertrain" warranty for the laser block.
AC or battery poweredThe PDW-V1 can be AC or battery powered, a feature that proves convenient in the field. 3.5-inch type color LCD screenThe integrated 3.5-inch screen a allow users to view recordings and edit Professional disc EDLs any time, anywhere without the need for an external video monitor. Extensive Range of InterfacesSony PDW-V1 comes equipped with a wide range of interfaces. In the traditional AV world it offers SDI output, analogue composite Output, analogue audio output, headphone output, and i.Link AVC Output. While for a smooth integration into an IT world it proposes Input and Output for both Ethernet 100Bt and i.Link (File Access Mode) in order to browse and use XDCAM files directly on your PC.
