The HDC900 studio camera and companion HDC950 and HDC930 portable cameras have been designed to cover the large variety of production requirements within the new DTV era. All cameras provide brilliant quality 1920 x 1080 format high definition pictures, in both 50Hz and 60Hz interlaced formats. In addition, the HDC900 and HDC950 also support acquisition at 24, 25 and 30 frames progressive scan. The HDCU900 CCU offers the broadest range of output options including simultaneous HD and down converted SD outputs, and internal format conversion. This means the Sony HDC camera system meets the most important design criteria required in the Australian broadcast environment: they not only provide all the features essential for the emerging digital broadcast environment, but are also backward compatible and seamlessly integrated into the existing SD broadcast environment.
Key features Memory Stick - Can store a number of camera set-up parameters and V/F indicators in a personal Memory Stick. Multiple Output Capability. Dual Pixel Read Out - Under extremely low light, sensitivity increases by up to 24dB, enabling shooting with 0.6 lux of light. Standard 2/3-type Lens Mount - Either an HD lens or a SD 2/3-type format lens can be mounted. Super EVS - Raises vertical picture resolution, while minimising line flicker. Clear Scan & ECS (Extended Clear Scan) - Eliminate banding effects when shooting monitor displays. Electronic Shutter - Provides speeds of 1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 and 1/200 of a second, in 1080/60i mode. Optical Filter Wheels - Independent ND and CC optical filters are provided. Ergonomic Body Design - Design flows on from other HDC and BVP Series cameras, giving the operator pre-knowledge of the control layout. 12-bit A/D Conversion & ADSP (Advanced Digital Signal Processing) - Provides excellent colour rendition and adjustable wide range camera set-up parameters.
